December fast and furious

I really enjoy being busy. I love cramming my day with as much stuff as possible. Some of it is necessary, most of not, but needless to say, I am happy when I am on the go. Because I love to spend my days running from here to there consequently I run out of time for other things, like BLOGGING. So if you have time to spare glance back and see what the Kearns did in December. If not I will never know :)

This is our Christmas Tree. I caved and bought a fake one. I really did miss the fun of going out and getting the tree, and I really missed the smell, but hands down a fake tree is so much easier to take care of. The biggest plus of all, my kids did not step on one pine needle. Decorating is something that does not come naturally to me. So with much help from Destiny and my mom I managed to put my tree together. We are still enjoying its beauty.

Opa

Every year we have my Opa down a few days before Christmas. My dad was born in Holland and because of that we have some really fun traditions. One of them being chocolate letters. Each Christmas we each get a big chocolate letter representing the first letter in our name. I remember as a child savoring this chocolate only having a bite at a time. I really love good chocolate and it probably started as a young girl eating my chocolate letter.

Savanna fell in love with my Opa. I was very surprised by this. She doesn't really snuggle up to anyone, and especially someone she doesn't know that well. But more than once I found her sitting on his lap, just staring up at him. I'm sure it just warmed his heart. I'm grateful for family and for traditions. It is really fun passing them onto my children.

Stephanie told Adam and me that our outfits really bugged her. If you wear a black and white shirt than you should wear black pants. Same goes for Adam.

A Snowy Hayride

If you want to live in a neighborhood where fun is constantly happening then come and join mine. We went on a hayride to see Spanish Fork Lights. Who cares if it a blizzard outside. We bundled up and had us a great time. Afterwards we ended up at Jim and Destinys for some hot chocolate and donuts. I love the SNOW!!! Only until Christmas and then I wish it would go away!

Dancing Away

I'm not sure if I have mentioned that I put Savanna in dance this year. I have never started dancing at 2 before and now I know why. Every week I was never sure what I was going to get. She really enjoyed doing all the fun stuff, but when it came down to learning her dance she would sit on the floor and watch. When we would get in the car she would say, "Me no like my Ho Ho dance. Me no like to pat my belly." And that is what I got to deal with week after week. As the recital was nearing I was really starting to get worried. I imagined her being the one to run off stage, or worse stand there and cry her eyes out. The only way I could ever get her to cooperate just a bit was to tell her that Bub wanted to come and see her dance.
So dance night came and to my surprise she pulled it off, and as I promised, her Bubby was sitting on the front row watching her. My favorite part was watching her trying to find the sticker she was supposed to stand on.
MaKaya has been dancing this year and she was much easier to deal with than Boo. She loves dancing. She never complains and always pays attention. I know I am her mother, but I have to say that she was the best dancer in her class. She new every move to both dances. I was beaming with joy watching her dance.

Temple Square

The last time I went to Temple Square at Christmas time is when Lexi was a year old. So last night we got the bright idea to brave the snow storm and head up to Salt Lake. My kids love riding Tracks and with parking being a nightmare we were all happy. As soon as we got off the train and walked into Temple Square the most warm beautiful feeling filled my soul. One of my girls said, "we don't have to pay to come in here". It was snowing, I was there with people I love, and The Christmas Spirit filled the air. It was a magical night for all of us.

MaKaya's party

This year MaKaya had an old fashion birthday party. We played musical chairs, pin the tail on the reindeer and had a pinata. And it was a lot of fun. It doesn't really matter what you do when kids are together they just know how to have some fun.

Christmas Party Fun!!!

Instead of playing Bunco we decided to have a Christmas party. Destiny was our fabulous host (she really can throw a party). We had an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest, and my did we have the Christmas attire glowing. Destiny beat us all with her denim jumper and side ponytail. The food was delicious and the white elephants were, well lets just say some were naughty and some were nice!!! I love these girls!!!
