We met up with her best friend Macy for part of the day

I asked MaKaya what she wanted to do for her day with Mom and she said shopping and Lunch. So that's just what we did. She never gets to ride in the stroller because Boo always does so she was super excited to get to ride. She wanted pretzel bites for lunch and some Sees chocolate for a treat. As soon as we got in the car she changed into her new clothes, that's my kind of girl. We had a fun afternoon with just us. As the afternoon was ending she told me that is was so fun to be just her and I, because Savanna is such a pain. I couldn't have agreed more.

The Twins are one!!!

It is so hard to imagine that a year can go by so quickly. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday we started the whole process and other times it feels like it never happened. I am still very happy that I was able to do this for Angie and her family. She put it perfectly when she said they bring so much happiness to a lot of people. We love you Kaden and Hunter

On Friday myself and 3 friends took off for St. George and Vegas and let me just tell you it was the best vacation I think I have ever had.

Memories we won't forget
Drawing even more attention to ourselves as we ran down the strip so we wouldn't be late for our show
Going to 6 gas stations looking for insulated mugs to keep our Pepsi cold
Talking non-stop on the way down that the drive seemed like minutes instead of hours
Learning how to "lick and smack"

But I have to say my favorite memory of the trip was pulling into Jen's driveway and seeing all five of her kids and her husband anxiously waiting on the front lawn for her to return. I felt a bit stupid as I felt my eyes fill up with tears knowing that my weekend was over and I would not be with my best friends anymore and the reality of mom life was returning. I felt much better as I hugged Jen and saw that she too had tears. When I got back in the car Kate and Monica were misty eyed too. Its not very often that four moms get the chance to take a long weekend with their best friends and do nothing but laugh, cry, be stupid, have fun, be carefree, and have a really great time. Thank you ladies I love you all!!!

Lexi and I took a day and went to Lagoon. It was a lot of fun spending the day with just her. She is brave and dares to go on ALL the rides. She put her two boy cousins to shame. While waiting for the Cliffhanger ride Adam and I picked the two driest seats. The water show obviously changes because we were the two WETTEST after the ride. I know that I am getting old when after every ride I wanted to vomit and going around the loops on the Colossus I got light headed. That makes me sad but did not stop me. We had a really fun day.

9 years ago Stephanie was pregnant with what she thought was a girl. My mother was working at the Disney store and thought it was fun to buy Steph all these cute girlie character looking outfits. Well Stephanie ended up having a boy and all those outfits have slowly been given away. The other night we were at her house and as we were leaving she has waiting by her door this hideous yellow and orange check marked overall outfit with Winnie the Pooh and friends on it. With a big smile she tells me that she has saved this just for me. Just as I am saying don't you dare give that to me she tells Boo that she has a new outfit for her. Of course Boo is so excited and happily carries it out to the car. She falls asleep and I leave the outfit in the car hoping she won't remember it in the morning. The first thing she says to me when she wakes up is dress, lellow dress. I grudgingly go out to the car and get her yellow outfit. After she gets it on she is running through the house yelling yeah!!! yeah!!! The only thing I needed to go with the outfit was some big huge velcro Dora the Explorer shoes with white socks to her knees.

I did it!!!

I ran my first 5K today, and I really had a grand old time doing it. It was raining and as much as I hate the rain it really didn't bother me. I had asked Monica a number of times if she wanted to run with me and to my surprise last night she called and said she was in. I was so proud of her. She has never ran that far before. She kept a great pace and we didn't have to stop once. Our time was 32 min. 40 sec. I have caught the running bug and think I have passed it on to Monica. I hope to run many more races and hope that Monica is right there by my side.

Mothers Day

So I'm a little late on the Mothers Day post.

MaKaya's class had a Moms and Muffins day. Each child made a card. In MaKaya's own words this is what her card said. I love my mom because she makes me feel better. My mom makes the best tuna fish on sandwich. Me and my mom like to go getting my kindergarten shots. You just have to smile and not think too much about what is being said. Of all the things I cook mixing some miracle whip and tuna is her favorite. We go shopping, we go to build a bear, we go out for ice cream, we go to the park, we do all kinds of fun things all the time and my child's favorite is getting shots with me there by her side. Ahhh how sweet!!!
