Lexis' first day of school

Her first day of school outfit
The girls she walks to school with
The boys she walks to school with
Boo hating the fact that her Sissy is going to school. That is much how I felt.

As nice as it is to have a little piece and quiet around the house when school starts, it really makes me sad. I feel a bit of a Debbie Downy for about a week before it starts. We just have so much fun. We are on the go non-stop we have no schedule and no responsibility. (well maybe a little) We swim, and shop, and play, and watch baseball, and go to lunch, and hang at granny's. We boat, and ski, and lay out. We VACATION!!! We stay up late and then we sleep in. We eat dinner and 8:00 and wear swim suits all day long. We spend our days with our friends. We have so much fun and keep so busy that there isn't one day that we sit around and are bored. So as I sit here and type I feel a little blue thinking about how long I have to wait for my summer fun to begin.

Swimming party

Lexi jumping off
I love my pompa
Stephy said I could take my piggys out.
I love shoes
MaKaya's first time jumping off and swimming to the side without a life jacket.
I'm a little scared
But I did it.
Kaden doing a back flip. Him and Adam must be related

My moms cousin has a pool in her backyard and we had the privledge of having a swimming party there. My girls love to swim, and I love the sun so we were happy to go.

The Cabin

The Good Old Cabin

Shaun and Sammy. She rides so good on the back of the 4-Wheeler
Me and the girls.
Lexi thought she was so grown up because she got to drive herself. She turned out to be a really good driver. By the end she could even back up by herself. Here we are ready to take off for a ride.
We just wore her right out.

Shauns family has a cabin up Salina canyon. Going to the cabin for Shaun is like going to Bear Lake for me. It is what his family has done since he was a little boy. I have to say that Shaun has endured Bear Lake better than I have endured the cabin. Running water, a shower, a comfy bed are just a few of the necessities of life that I really don't like going without. We have gone to the cabin every year since we have been married, but rarely do we stay overnight. I do enjoy four-wheeling, I like the minty way sage brush smells when you run over it, roasting marshmallows, relaxing, watching them fish, reading a good book. But at the end of the day it is hard for me to go to bed dirty, and even harder waking up with dirt in my hair and feeling gritty from head to toe. But thanks to Shauns brother Devin the cabin has had its own Extreme Maker. The carpet has been replaced, wood floors and tile have been laid, the bathroom was gutted. All the windows were replaced, a new stove was brought in. A water pump has been installed. We now have ceiling fans and even some new furniture. After a fun day I was able to take a hot powerful shower, blow dry my hair and sleep in a really comfy bed. Waking up all clean and fresh, it was like a dream come true. I have to say that in my ten years of going to the cabin it was the best time yet. In fact I am quite anxious for when we go again.

Its that time again

We just had our annual Bear Lake trip. Could any place on earth be better than this. I love this week more than anything else in the world. It is a week to relax, boat, water ski, spend time with family, eat good food and just plain have fun. This is a place where some of my fondest memories are made. Each time I am there I am filled with a youthful excitement that only Bear Lake brings. One of my favorite moments is when we are out on the lake just before the sun sets. Usually there are only a few of us on the boat and all at once the water becomes so smooth it appears to be glass. There is a majestic feeling. Looking at the beauty that night and feeling this overwhelming sense of joy and appreciation helped me realize more how much our Heavenly Father loves us. Giving my family this tender mercy that all of could feel is a moment that none of us will forget. Dad thankyou so much for allowing us to spend the best week of the year over and over and over again!

Yellowstone

They look like they are going to fall off
Bubby and Hunter. Two peas in a pod
Sweet cuddly Kaden
The whole Klan
Our first Kodak of the trip. Lexi is with Paul and Stacey

Shaun and the boys. He looks good with two babies
Lexi was carrying a baby around as often as she could

A few weeks ago we took a trip to Yellowstone with Shauns family. I have never been there so I was excited to go. We all stayed together in a big cabin. It was amazing at how well everyone (adults included) got along. The next few posts are all about our trip. So indulge if you'd like. We sure did have fun!

Waterfall

This was my favorite site of the whole yellowstone experience.

The little Monkey

Notice the leash
Stacey bought Maddie a monkey backpack leash to keep her out of the hot pots. Savanna loved holding onto her leash as we walked. There were sometimes drag out battles as to who got to hold the leash. I bet you can't guess who won.

Elk

I am posting this because the guys on this trip think this is cool. I on the other hand would have rather stayed in the car and read my book.
