My husband went to the Vegas bowl and left his wife with 3 girls home alone with only a few days before Christmas. Every Saturday the 3 houses in my cul-da-sac take turns watching the kids, so while Vanessa watched the girls my mom and I planned an evening with dinner and shopping. Our time was running out so we called Gramps and asked if he would go get the girls. He said that he would just hang out at my house until we got home. We arrived home only an hour after we said we would. The house was standing, the girls were happy, and thankfully Savanna didn't poop because I am quite certain that Gramps would not have changed it. My dad wasn't ecstatic to watch the girls and I am sure that this adventure for him is not in my near future but all the less he did survive. We were getting ready for bed and Lexi comes to me and I can tell that she is emotional. I ask her what is wrong. As tears roll down her cheeks she expresses to me how much she loves Granny and Gramps, and how thankful she was that Gramps watched her tonight. We called Gramps so she could tell him this herself. As she struggled with her tears she told him how much she loved him and thanked him again for watching her tonight. I don't know about you but I had tears in my eyes and I can almost bet that gramps heart was swollen with love and maybe even a tear in his eye. Thanks Dad for loving me and Thanks for loving my Girls!!!

Boo and her Shoes
Like mother like daughter Savanna loves shoes. Every day she goes into my closet and points to my shoes until I figure out the ones she wants to wear. She then proudly struts around the house in her shoes. When wearing her own shoes she HAS to pick the pair that she is going to wear. She also is very vocal about what shoes she wants me to wear. We have had many fights over the shoes she wants me to wear. I am okay with her wearing red sparkly shoes with a purple outfit. My red sparkly shoes are for Halloween and not to be worn with purple. We went shopping yesterday and some how ended up in the shoe department. Savanna was in hog heaven going from box to box trying on one shoe after another. I am sad to say that no new shoes for her came home with us. Maybe Santa has a pair waiting for her.

MaKaya's program
MaKaya was so cute in her pre-school program. She sang so loud and knew all the words. Miss Julie has the best pre-school around

Baby Boys
OH SO CUTE!!! Hunter and Kaden are growing so big and so fast. They are smiling and giggling. Hunter often sleeps through the night. I wish I could claim that some of the cuteness came from me. They are adorable little boys. And sweet Angie has joined the "moms minivan club!" And boy does she look HOT driving her van!!!

Family Fun
On Saturday the Millard family went tubing to Soldier Hollow. It was fun to get all bundled up and play in the snow. I am happy to say that I am the proud owner of my very own snow clothes. I have a purple coat, black pants, purple gloves, and lavender Sorel snow boots. I was very excited to wear my snow attire. It was so much fun tubing down the hill and so much fun being towed by the tow rope back up the hill. The only problem with the tow rope is that MaKaya stays in her tube the entire time and her feet get cold. I never got cold tubing as a child because I had to walk my fanny back up the hill. I am not complaining, I am a huge fan of the tow rope. Thanks Grandpa and Zella for a very fun day!!

Dancing
When you have girls it is a given that they are in dance. On Tuesday we had the great opportunity to watch Lexi and MaKaya's dance recital. They were so excited and danced so good. Lexi and our neighbor Trae take ballroom (do I hear Dancing with the Stars) and MaKaya and her best friend Macy take creative. MaKaya is asking when she can start Ballroom. She has picked her partner to be Tyton. I hope that is okay with him and his mom. On the way to pre-school her and Macy were asking Cooper and Walker if they would be their dancing partners and they said ewww gross NO!!! I have never understood why men don't like dancing. You are very close to a women, she usually has very little clothing on, it can be very let's say "intimate Its all the things that men enjoy and yet the majority of them hate it. Go figure. I do hope that Lexi and MaKaya keep dancing just for "fun" for a long long long time.

Birthday Time
MaKaya turned 5 on the 2nd. Grans birthday was on the 7th and Stephs birthday is on the 15th. On Friday we had the Grobbens over for some birthday fun. Every time we go to Sams Club MaKaya has to check the cakes out. She can't wait for her birthday so that she can pick her very own cake. Hello Kitty it is. I am sure that Gran and Steph would have picked out the very same cake. My dad surprised my mom with a brand new Suburban. She has wanted one since I was a kid. He wrapped the key in a box she thought he bought her a motorcycle. It was very fun to watch her surprised face when she saw her car. It even brought a tear to my eye. She said that she was too old for a surprise like that, it almost gave her a heart attack. Thanks for partying with us and Happy Birthday to all!!!

A good reminder
Last Sunday was fast Sunday and I am reminded of a fast Sunday five years ago. It was December 1st and I was very very pregnant with MaKaya (her birthday is Dec. 2nd) We were in a very large ward at the time. In order to get a comfy bench you had to arrive to church 30 minutes early. Of course church was at 9:00 and being oh so pregnant and dealing with Lexi the 2 year old I was not prone to moving oh so fast. So all morning I was nagging at Shaun to get to church early enough so that oh so pregnant butt of mine could sit on a nice comfy bench. When I walk into the church I am gazing at the benches searching for my husband only to realize he is sitting on a very hard chair. I am sure that he was nervous for me to find him. A pregnant wives wrath is something that you try to avoid. So all through Sacrament Shaun got the cold shoulder and all through Sunday School the cold shoulder continued. I was justified in my naughty behavior, I thought. What pregnant wife should have to sit on a hard chair. He departs and I go to Relief Society yeah soft chairs. To start the lesson we watch the movie of when Christ is born. As I am sitting on my soft chair watching very pregnant Mary riding on a donkey and Joseph walking along side her, my heart starts to hurt, and my eyes start to burn and I feel very ashamed of the way I acted toward my husband. I was very humbled and was taught a great lesson. My sweet sweet husband does the best he can. And at times it may not be what I or he was expecting. I realized that I need to be grateful for the effort that he puts to make my life so good. I am glad for the hard chair experience because every December fast Sunday I am reminded to be grateful for the little things.
